We are delighted to announce that The National Lottery Community Fund has decided to support WMCO for another 5 years with funding of £61,200 per annum. This award will directly fund the salaries of our 2 staff members and partially subsidise our rental of Hilltop Community Centre, thus ensuring that we can continue to support the 8,000 strong African & Caribbean community we serve in High Wycombe.
We are incredibly thankful for this support, which was based on the strength of the management team and the quality of projects WMCO has launched, such as the weekly Movers & Shakers for our senior citizens, our health awareness days and our free Christmas meal for 120 elders. There was also recognition of our annual seaside trips, our monthly bingo nights, our lead on organising the donation of over 1,000 books to schools in St Vincent & The Grenadines, our membership growing to over 150 people and our nomination for a Buckinghamshire charity award for community cohesion. I know that the High Wycombe African & Caribbean community would like to thank the National Lottery Community Fund and those that play the National Lottery for their generous support.
